Special Programs: Cemetery Stroll

AVA Sanction: YR1001  (Open January 1 - December 31, 2010)

Description: A choice of 2 - 10K walks (one event stamp).  Both rated 2+.  One 10K will follow the course of events as they unfolded over 140 years ago during the Civil War.  The walk is mostly paved trails with several hills.  A alternate course for this walk uses only the paved trail and is suitable for wheelchairs and strollers. The second 10K walk is mostly dirt trail and is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers.  Dogs must be leashed and will not be allowed in the visitors' center. 

Registration: Registration is at Express Lane, Junction Hwy MM and US 60.  Open 365 days/year, 24 hours/day.  "A" award is available while supply lasts.  Fees are $6.00 for patch and IVV credit, $3.00 for IVV credit only, and free for those who do not desire a patch or credit.  The park may charge their customary entrance fee if the walker goes into the visitors' center.  Park is open 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

Directions to Registration/Start Point:
From I-44, take Exit 70, MO Hwy MM south to Junction US 60.  After registering, drive to start point for walk.  Start point is Wilson's Creek Battlefield.  From Jct MM and US 60, continue south on Hwy M to Hwy ZZ. Turn right (south) to park sign.
