Description: A choice of two 10k walks, but only one event credit even if doing both trails.  One walk follows bike/hike path across Pittsburg State University with streets and sidewalks through residential areas.  The newer trail takes you to residential areas and downtown to new special event sites.  Miners Memorial and Immigrant park give history of area.  Trails are rated 1 and are suitable for stroller with assistance, but not suitable for wheelchairs.  Dogs must be leashed.

Registration: Start point is Gorilla Express (Conoco), 2401 S. Rouse, Pittsburg, KS.  Open 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM daily.  Ask for Walk Box behind counter.  Credit Only.  Fee is $3.00 for IVV credit or free to those not desiring credit.

Directions to Registration/Start Point:
From I-44
, take Exit #1 on Hwy 166 west/400 west.  At stop sign, continue north on Hwy 26 to Galena (6.3 miles).  At Galena (stoplight), turn left (west) on Route 66 and continue on 66 to Riverton.  Continue to the junction of Hwy 400 west/north alternate 69 and turn right (north). Continue 20.7 miles to Pittsburg.  (Continue on Hwy 69 when Hwy 400 goes west.)  Turn right at the stoplight at Centennial and go for 1.3 miles.  At 4-way stop, go left on Rouse to start point on the right.

From the north, follow KS Hwy 69 south to Pittsburg. Go left at light on Centennial and then follow same directions above.
