American Hiking Society — As the national voice for America's hikers, American Hiking Society promotes and protects foot trails and the hiking experience.

American Trails — Our members are working to enhance and protect America's network of interconnected trails. We support local, regional, and long-distance trails and greenways, whether in backcountry, rural, or urban areas. Our goal is to support America's trails by finding common ground and promoting cooperation among all trail interests.

The Association of Swiss-Liechtenstein Volkssport Clubs (VSL) was founded in 1970 and currently has about 120 member clubs which organize some 200 IVV weekend-style events throughout the year, as listed on the web site. In addition to Round Walk style events (termed "Rundwanderungen" here) with about 20 km segments, we are beginning to organize YRE's (termed "permanente Wanderungen") of about 10 km in length and details are included in English, French and German on our web site as they become available.

British Walking Federation (BWF) — The British Walking Federation organises, through its clubs, non-competitive events designed for people of all ages and abilities. Participants walk at their own pace and receive awards for their personal achievement. You don't have to be a member of a club to take part - all you need to do is come to an event and register and take the opportunity to have fun, make friends and improve your own personal fitness.

International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV) — The International Federation of Popular Sports (IVV) is an international organization composed of national associations and clubs that organizes popular sports (volkssports) events. The Federation is a not-for-profit organization. It was founded in 1968 by clubs from Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Austria. It was registered by the Court of Munich, Germany on January 20, 1972, and entered into the Register of Associations under No 7820 at the Office of Records.

The vast majority of our trips are labeled “hikes” but are essentially walks, and most of our membership consists of recreational walkers who might be interested in AVA activities.
