American Hiking Society promotes and protects foot trails and the hiking

Trails Our members are working to enhance and protect America's
network of interconnected trails. We support local, regional, and long-distance
trails and greenways, whether in backcountry, rural, or urban areas. Our goal
is to support America's trails by finding common ground and promoting
cooperation among all trail interests. A non-profit organization.
The Association of Swiss-Liechtenstein Volkssport Clubs (VSL)
was founded in 1970 and currently has about 120 member clubs which organize
some 200 IVV weekend-style events throughout the year, as listed on the web
site. In addition to Round Walk style events (termed "Rundwanderungen" here)
with about 20 km segments, we are beginning to organize YRE's (termed
"permanente Wanderungen") of about 10 km in length and details are included in
English, French and German on our web site as they become
available.
British
Walking Federation (BWF) The British Walking Federation organizes, through its clubs, non-competitive events designed for people of all
ages and abilities. Participants walk at their own pace and receive awards for
their personal achievement. You don't have to be a member of a club to take
part - all you need to do is come to an event and register and take the
opportunity to have fun, make friends and improve your own personal fitness.

The Canadian Volkssport Federation/La Federation Canadienne Volkssport
(CVF/FCV) is the national organization that promotes non-competitive
participation in walking and other recreational activities for fun, fitness and
friendship.

Court of Munich, Germany on January 20, 1972, and entered into the Register of

President's Challenge What began
as a national youth fitness test has grown up. In a big way. Today, the

Top 10 Walks in the USA
The clubs of the American Volkssport
Association host more than 1,700 self-guided trails in the United States. The walks go through a
wide variety of areas, from National Parks to quaint towns to exciting cities. An independent poll
was taken of a select group of the Association's members to learn their favorite walks of 2007. Click on
the link for the results.
Wild Earth Adventures Offers walks, hikes,
cross-country ski trips, and wilderness camping trips in the Northeastern U.S.
(New York, New Jersey, and several other states). Weve been around for 26
years and offer an average of 3 trips per week. The vast majority of our trips
are labeled hikes but are essentially walks, and most of our
membership consists of recreational walkers who might be interested in AVA
