Start:  8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. - Finish:  4:00 p.m.
All Walkers must be signed in and on the trail by 1:00 p.m.
NO LATE STARTS ARE PERMITTED - Registration does not guarantee access to the trail - all walkers must be registered and on the trail by 1:00 p.m.
Crazy Horse entrance gates open at 6 a.m.
Registration starting at 7 a.m.
Advise the entrance gate workers that you are participating in the volksmarch - the Crazy Horse Memorial entrance fee is waived for those individuals participating in the event.

TRAIL DESCRIPTION

Trail is on groomed and ungroomed paths.  The part of the trail going up to the carving is steep.  The altitude is about 6490 feet above sea level.

EVENT INFORMATION

All participants regardless of age or group affiliation must be registered (see event registration fees above) and in possession of a start card to access the trail.  This applies to all children including those carried by their parents or in strollers.  There is no free walker category for this event.  No pre-registration.

The sponsors are not liable for accidents, thefts and/or material damage.  Every effort will be made to make these events safe, enjoyable and memorable.  The event will take place regardless of weather conditions (with the exception of lighting) so please dress accordingly.  In the event of lighting the trail will be closed.  No refunds will be given.  Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.  All participants will be required to sign liability disclaimer.

IVV RECORD BOOKS

Event and distance books will be available for purchase for $5.00 each at the Start/Finish.  This event counts towards the acquisition of IVV achievement awards.  New walker program packets will also be available for $5.00 each.

WATER

Water will be available at the Start/Finish and checkpoints.  Carrying water is highly recommended.

FOOD

Food is available at Laughing Water Restaurant.  Food vendors are usually on the memorial grounds.  Good restaurants are also located in Custer and Hill City.

PETS

NO PETS OF ANY KIND WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE TRAIL!  This includes, dogs, cats, birds or reptiles.  As there are no pet boarding facilities available at the Memorial please make arrangements for the safekeeping of your pets prior to entering the Memorial grounds.  

RESTROOMS

Restrooms are available at the start/finish and at checkpoints.
