Volunteer |
Hosting a convention requires a lot of help
from many volunteers. The 2005 AVA Biennial Convention Committee needs
volunteers for the following Convention activities:
- Information table at convention hotel - Answer volkssporter
questions and provide information on the Cherry Hill area.
- Silent Auction Room - Ensure donated item forms are completed
accurately, prepare donated items for display, monitor Silent Auction Room
during open hours, prepare and process sales receipts for purchased items.
- Live Auction - Assist at live auction activities at business sessions or
socials.
- Registration booth - Hand out goodie bags to people registered for
the convention. Also need folks to stuff the goodie bags sometime on
Monday.
- Workshops - Prepare room for speakers, introduce speakers, take
attendance, and distribute workshop evaluation forms.
- Ticket takers/Badge Checkers for social events and meals - Ensure
that only people who have paid for the event/meal are let into the event/get
the meal.
- Exhibits - Ensure that only people who have registered for the
Convention are let into the Exhibit Hall. Ensure that only authorized
exhibitors are let into the Exhibit Hall when it is closed.
- General Session Tellers - Each Regional Director is responsible
for appointing a teller. If you would like to volunteer to be a Teller, contact your
RD.
If you would like to help with any of the above volunteer positions,
visit our convention volunteer form. Fill out your name
and contact information at the top of the form, check those events and times you are able to
volunteer, and click on submit at the bottom of the form. An email message will be sent to
Jim Geith, the volunteer coordinator, with your data.
In addition, volunteers are needed for a number of positions
at each of our walks:
- Walk events - start, finish, check points, greeters/info,
equipment team, and vehicle parking.
If you like to help with any of the walk events listed below, click
on the event name and visit the volunteer form for that event. Fill out your name and contact
information at the top of the form, check those events and times you are able to volunteer, and
click on submit at the bottom of the form. An email message will be sent to the PoC for that
event with your data. If the event name is not a link, then click on the PoC's name and send
